2 DIAS EN CADAQUÉS | ESPAÑA

Sé que he estado super perdida y no había podido dedicarle el tiempo que me gusta a escribir mis historias y recomendaciones, pero a pesar de todo acá estoy… mas vale tarde que nunca!
Hoy les traigo una super recomendación, si están pensando visitar España durante el verano o si viven en España y quieren explorar otros lugares, les traigo los datos de un pueblito super lindo, que se convirtió en uno de mis favoritas ever!
Cadaqués, una pequeña ciudad de España ubicada en la Costa Brava. Es un pequeño pueblo costero de ensueño, que queda como a 2 horas y media desde Barcelona por tierra.
En mi caso, yo llegué en avión hasta Barcelona y de ahí alquilamos un carro y nos fuimos a explorar varias ciudades y pueblos de la región.
La carretera está en perfectas condiciones y bien señalizada, por lo que es bastante fácil manejarla. Mi recomendación es que si no viven en España, compren una línea telefónica temporal, son súper económicas, por 10 Euros tienes data para todo un mes, y de esta forma siempre tendrás el GPS contigo y podrás googlear restaurantes o lugares que quieras visitar y hasta comprar las entradas a los museos o hacer reservaciones.
El tramo final de la autopista está repleto de curvas ya que debes subir la montaña y bajarla para llegar al pueblo costero. Así que si son de marearse, vayan psicológicamente preparados.

I know I've been super lost and could not devote the time I like to write my stories and recommendations, but despite everything here I am ... better late than never!
Today I bring you a super recommendation, if you are thinking about visiting Spain during the summer or if you live in Spain and want to explore other places, I bring you a recommendation of a super cute little town, which became one of my favorite ever!
Cadaqués, a small town in Spain located on the Costa Brava. It´s a small dream coastal town, which is about 2 and a half hours driving from Barcelona.
In my case, I arrived by plane to Barcelona and from there we rented a car and went to explore several cities and towns in the region.
The road is in perfect condition, so it´s quite easy to drive. My recommendation, if you don´t live in Spain, buy a temporary telephone line, they´re super cheap for 10 Euros you have data for a whole month and in this way you will always have the GPS with you and you will be able to google restaurants or places that you want to visit and even buy tickets to museums or make reservations.
The final stretch of the highway is full of curves as you must go up the hill and down to reach the coastal town. So if you get dizzy, go psychologically prepared.
Esta región ha inspirado a cientos de artistas como Marcel Duchamp y Salvador Dalí, quien inclusive construyó una de sus casas de verano en esta región. Y no hay duda del porque, visitar Cadaqués es un viaje que cautiva los sentidos: pasear por sus calles junto al mar, visitar la Iglesia de Santa María con su altar Barroco, y experimentar la vida de cara al mar con una vista insuperable.
Está muy cerca de la frontera con Francia por lo que la influencia francesa es evidente.

This region has inspired hundreds of artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Salvador Dalí, who even built one of his summer homes in this region and there is no doubt why they fell in love with the region, visiting Cadaqués is a trip that captivates the senses: walking through its streets by the sea, visiting the Church of Santa María with its Baroque altar and experiencing life facing the sea with “The” view.
It is very close to the French border so the French influence is evident.
HOSPEDAJE
En Cadaqués no encontrarás grandes cadenas hoteleras, en su mayoría son pequeñas posadas u hostales bastante pequeños pero que tienen lo básico, una habitación limpia con cama, baño privado y aire acondicionado.
Nosotros nos quedamos una noche en una posada, y otra noche en otra, ya todas las posadas estaban reservadas.
La primera noche nos alojamos en L´Hostalet de Cadaqués, una posadita ubicada a solo 2 cuadras del mar, en medio del pueblito. La ubicación es perfecta, ya que está situada en una de las zonas más comerciales, así que apenas sales, están los restaurantes y tiendas de la zona.
La habitación es una cajita de fósforos (es decir mínima) pero la idea era pasear y explorar, así que nos funcionó perfecto. Eso sí, mi esposo prácticamente no cabía en la ducha, el baño era diminuto, pero no nos impidió tomar una refrescante ducha y descansar.
La segunda noche, nos hospedamos en Hostal Cristina, esta posada es más grande y está frente al mar, en pleno corazón del pueblo. Al llegar te reciben dos bellos perritos pugs, recuerdo que una se llamaba “Lola” y eran las perritas más cariñosas de todas!
Las habitaciones son modestas, el baño mas grande y con bañera, así que en términos de espacio, mucho más cómoda. De todas formas, no fuimos buscando lujo sino un lugar donde descansar.

HOTELS
In Cadaques you will not find big hotel chains, they are mostly small inns or hostels that are quite small but have the basics, a clean room with bed, private bathroom and air conditioning.
We stayed one night in an inn, and another night in another, and all the inns were reserved.
The first night we stayed at L'Hostalet de Cadaqués, a little inn located just 2 blocks from the sea, in the middle of the small town. The location is perfect, since it is located in one of the most commercial areas, so you surrounded by restaurants and shops.
The room is a matchbox (minimal) but the idea was to walk and explore, so it worked perfect. My husband practically didn’t fit in the shower, the bathroom was tiny, but it didn’t stop us from taking a refreshing shower and resting.
The second night, we stayed at Hostal Cristina, this is bigger and faces the sea, in the heart of the town. Upon arrival you are received by two beautiful doggies (pugs), I remember one was called "Lola" and they were the most loving dogs of all!
The rooms are modest with a bigger bathroom and bathtub, so in terms of space, much more comfortable. Anyway, we were not looking for a luxurious hotel but a place to rest.
DESAYUNOS
Mi recomendación es ir a cualquiera de las panaderías y comprar un rico pan con un buen jamón ibérico, con un jugo de naranja natural o un café y sentarse en la plaza a comérselo. Nada mejor que la simpleza en la mañana!

BREAKFAST
My recommendation is to go to any of the bakeries and buy bread with a good Iberico ham, natural orange juice or a coffee and sit in the square to eat it. Nothing better than simplicity in the morning!
ALMUERZOS
TALLA: este restaurant esta en plena calle en una especie de boulevard frente al mar. Es súper lindo, la comida sorprendentemente fue espectacular, y digo sorprendentemente porque parecía la propia “trampa turística” pero no lo fue y nos dejó gratamente sorprendidos. Puedo decir sin duda alguna, que es el mejor restaurante de Cadaqués.
El pulpo por supuesto una de las especialidades, otro plato muy popular era el tartar en tuétano (servían el tartar sobre un hueso, y si no me equivoco lo que te comías dentro del hueso era la médula, yo sé que suena muy nasty, pero fue un lujo de almuerzo) y bueno, las fotos hablan por sí solas!

LUNCH
TALLA: this restaurant is on the street in a kind of boulevard facing the sea. It's super cute, the food was surprisingly spectacular, and I say surprisingly because it seemed like the "tourist trap" but it was not and left us pleasantly surprised. I can say without a doubt, that it is the best restaurant in Cadaqués.
The octopus of course one of the specialties, another very popular dish was the tartar in marrow (they served the tartar on a bone, and if I'm not mistaken what you ate inside the bone was the marrow, I know it sounds very nasty, but It was a delicious lunch) and the pictures speak for themselves!
CENAS
RAVIYU: Es una pizzeria super linda, excelente ambiente lleno de locales y con super buen servicio. El menú consiste principalmente en pizzas al horno, pero tienen unas ricas ensaladas. Al final no puede faltas un buen limoncello hecho en casa.

DINNER
RAVIYU: Is the cutest pizza place ever with excellent environment full of locals and with super good service. The menu consists mainly of baked pizzas but they also have some delicious salads. In the end you cannot miss a good homemade limoncello.
ACTIVIDADES
IR A LA PLAYA
El pueblo fue construido alrededor del mar, así que una parada obligada es darse un chapuzón en el agua, que por cierto, es helada. Mis disculpas pero yo vengo del Caribe y esta agua por mucho calor que había afuera, el agua permanecía helada… aah y olvídense de la arena, esta playa es de puras piedras (super resbalosas) pero igual vale la pena pasar unas horas de playa y sol.

GO TO THE BEACH
The town was built around the sea, so a must is to take a dip in the water, which by the way, is freezing. My apologies but I come from the Caribbean and this water was super cold even that was very hot outside, incredible how the water remained freezing... and forget about the sand, this beach is made of pure stones (super slippery) but it's still worth spending a few hours of sun on the beach.
VISITAR LA CASA DE DALI
La casa de Dalí es verdaderamente ecléctica, vale la pena visitarla pero les recomiendo comprar los tickets con anticipación, los espacios son pequeños dentro de la casa y los grupos que entran son como de 10 personas. Link para comprar los tickets.
Animales disecados, paredes blancas típicas de las casas mediterránea pero repleta de decoración y objetos, la famosa piscina en forma de pene, el asiento en forma de boca con el fondo de Pirelli, cada espacio cuenta una historia.

VISIT THE DALI´S HOUSE
Dalí's house is truly eclectic, it is worth visiting but I recommend buying the tickets in advance, the spaces are small inside the house and the groups that enter are about 10 people. Link to buy the tickets.
Stuffed animals, white walls typical of Mediterranean houses but full of decoration and objects, the famous penis-shaped pool, the mouth-shaped seat with the Pirelli background, each space tells a story.

VISITAR LA CASA DE LOS GATOS
En una de las calles encontraran una casa que hace esquina donde verán un montón de gatos, hay una señora que cuida de ellos, ¿Cuántos gatos tiene?, ni idea! pero alimenta a un montón. La Sra. es super amable y habla español con acento francés, tiene un buzón afuera donde acepta donaciones y es increíble como los gatos la obedecen.

VISIT THE HOUSE OF CATS
In one of the streets you will find a house in a corner where you will see a lot of cats, there is a lady who takes care of them, how many cats does she have?, no idea! but she feeds a lot. She´s a super friendly lady and speaks Spanish with a French accent, has a mailbox outside where she accepts donations and it's amazing how the cats obey her.

TIENDAS
Para mi sorpresa en Cadaqués hay unas tiendas super lindas! Pueden comprar carteras y sombreros bellísimos unas de mis favoritas fueron Ohana y Baobab, pero hay muchísimas mini tiendas con ropa y accesorios bellísimos.

SHOPPING
To my surprise in Cadaqués there are some very nice shops! You can buy purses and beautiful hats. Some of my favorite stores were Ohana and Baobab, but there are many mini stores with beautiful clothes and accessories.
Una vez que visitas Cadaqués, quedarás encantado para siempre y querrás volver una y otra vez. Sin duda alguna, un destino no tan promocionado internacionalmente pero que vale 100% la visita.
